DotA101: Hero Guide Yurnero the Juggernaut

Juggernaut is an agility hard carry hero that excels it dealing massive physical damage to the enemies but also deal a lot of magic damage during early game through his first ability. This hero is soft but can survive in lanes because his first ability provides magic immunity. While his 3rd ability which is to deal a critical strike in a certain chances gives you the power to deal huge physical damage and heals ultimate also gives a lot of physical damage by number of slashes. His 2nd ability can also give a support to the team because it gives a huge heal to allies in a radius.

For your starting items, I recommend you to have a Ring of  Protection to be upgraded into Ring of Basilius later on, Quelling Blade to deal more damage to non-hero units, Tango for healing and two Clarity Potions for mana regeneration because his first ability consumes a lot of mana. Or you can have this build as an alternative, one Stout Shield for defensive purpose, three Ironwood Branch for more stats and to be able to upgrade it to Magic Wand for survival and of course Tango and Healing Salve to heal your self.

In your respective lane you can choose with this two boots for movement speed modifier, Phaseboots for more damage and unit-walking in six seconds or Power Treads for attack speed and stats enabling purpose. And as I've said earlier that you can have Ring of Basilius, you can hen upgrade it to Ring of Aquila to boost  your agility stats and some mana regeneration. And you need to have Ring of Health to be needed for your mid game items. Your Stout Shield can be upgrade to Poorman's Shield to have more block and extra agility. You can up one lifesteal item in your lane, you can choose from Vladimir's Offering or Helm of dominator since the both of them offers a lot of help to Juggernaut.

Mid game items for Juggernaut can be many and different according to your playing style and tow hat is needed. Battlefury is mostly the key items for every hero that has a critical strike because it gives a cleave to every enemy around a radius and alsogives a regeneration for both mana and health. For Juggernaut's escape, i can recommend you Lothar's Edge because aside from giving you invisibility for 9 seconds it also provides attack speed and damage which is very helpful to him. Yasha is also good for Juggernaut in the mid game because it gives a huge boost in his agility and gives a additional movement speed.Desolator can also be a good mid game item for Juggernaut in replacement for yasha, since it gives you a lot if extra damage adn reduces your enemies armor by 6 when hit, so its gives you the advantage to deal more physical damage.

During late game, your team relays on you in dealing massive damage to enemies, so you should give Juggernaut items that can boost his attack damage. Monkeyking Bar can be one because it gives you bonus damage and 100 true  strike damage. Butterfly is very essential too because it gives a lot of agility to him and as well as an increase in his evasiveness.Your Yasha can be upgraded Sangeyasha by building up Sange in your items, this item provides both agility and strength stats and also deals 15% maime or slow to enemies when you hit. Aghanim's Scepter can also  be added to your items because it boosts your ultimate skill which gives it addtional slashes and therefore a lot more of damage to enemies.

This agility hard carry hero excels is pushing and deceiving enemy hero units because multiplying illusion  skills. He can also be a hard tank in the later game because it gains so much durability and power in the later parts of the game. This hero helps much in pushing enemy lanes and in the same time confuse them. Phantom Lancer is applicable from beginner to average players because you don't have to click too mush keys for him to escape or get a kill. And having such items would make him even stronger to the extent that he can finish up all enemies.

For starting items you can have Ring or Protection for you to have 2 armor, Quelling Blade to have an easy creep kill and earn gold points as fast you can, Tango for healing purposes and two Ironwood Branch for stat increase. Or another starting item build will be a Stout shield for blocking incoming damages, Quelling Blade for fast GPM and a Tango for healing purposes.

In the lane you need either Tranquilboots or Power Treads. You can have Tranquilboots if you have a Soul Ring to bully enemies in the lane.This item combo is very efficient in bullying because Soul ring provides mana in exchange for health points and Tranquilboots is very effective item in this, since it provides 300 HP regen in 10 secs. You may use Power Treads if you dont have this build up, and have Ring of Health to have some health regeneration.You can also upgrade your Ring of Protection in Ring of Aquila to provide some agility, armor and as well as mana regeneration.

In the mid game, you will need Vanguard to block enemies' physical attacks and some health regeneration. Diffusal Blade is also useful for its provided agility,man burn per hit to the enemies  and eight charges of purge. This item can be upgraded once to have more mana burn and to regain eight more charges. Then you can have Radiance to boost your damage and have an aura that creates burn that deals 60 magic damage per second to the enemies. Cranium Basher is a good idea too, it boosts your damage and gives you a little strength  and some chances for you to deal 2 second stun to the enemy.

 For his luxury items, you can have many items that can give him enough strength to defeat enemies. One item would be Manta style, this items provides two illusions thus giving you advantage because your ultimate skill multiplies your illusions. You can also give him an item that turns him into a hard tank in the late game. Heart of Tarasque can be one, since it gives you a lot of strength attribute and big number of Hp regen per second. Assault Cuirass can be used for Phantom Lancer too since it gives huge armor advantage and desolates enemies' armor by 5. And of course you can upgrade your Cranium Basher into Abbysal Blade by adding one Sacred Relic into it, which gives you a lot more of damage and gives you a passive item ability to stun enemies in 2 seconds and still has a passive chance in dealing a bash.

Sniper is a range carry agility hero who is very useful in dealing  massive physical damage to enemies. This should hero should be incorporated with a run and hit style wherein you must hit enemies from a far and learning his 3rd skill is much useful. This hero applicable for beginners because it doesnt have complicated skills and its use is just to slow down enemies and give them a hit.

For his starting items you can have one Slippers of agility and Circlet of  Nobility  for some stat advantages, one Tango for healing purposes and two Ironwood Branch for more stats, and Clarity potion for mana regeneration in case you spam your first skill. I guess this is all you need to have an advantage in the start of the game.

In the early lanes you can have Wraithband from the agility stat addition items(Slippers of Agility and Circlet of Nobility) just for some more damage, you can have 2,3 or even just one. Then for your boots you can choose from this Phase boots and Power treads depending on what is needed for you in the lane. Phase boots for more damage gives a unitwalking for 6 seconds while Power treads give you stats depending on the boots color (red for strength, green for agility and blue for intelligence). I suggest you buy an Empty Bottle for regeneration for purpose for both mana and health which can be refilled when you go back to base or get a rune.

During mid game Lothars Edge is very useful to Sniper since he is too soft to go close combat so you need to have this item in case someone comes close to fight with you. Yasha is also needed for you to have bonus agility and for an increase in your movement speed. Maelstrom is also a very combative item for him because it gives a lot of damage, gives additional attack speed and has chances in dealing chain lighting to enemies around and deals 200 magic damage. Helm of Dominator or Mask of Madness is also widely used for Sniper because they give lifesteal, bonus attack speed and armor. Or whether you can have Crystalys for more damage and to have a chance to deal critical strike to enemies.

In the late game stage, you can upgrade your Yasha into Manta style for dealing more physical damage to enemies through illusions. Or you can create Sangeyasha out of it which gives you bonus agility and strength and also maimes enemies when you hit them. Your Maelstrom can be upgraded to Mjolnir to supply you more attack speed and bounces back lighting to enemies hitting you. You can also upgrade Crystalys to Buriza do Kyanon for much larger critical strike. Butterfly or Monkeyking Bar is one of your most essential item during late game when playing Kardel. Butterfly gives you bonus damage, attack speed and armor because of its huge amount of agility given to a hero handling it. It also gives you a 25% chance to evade enemies' physical attacks. Monkeyking Bar gives you a 100 true damage per hit which is very useful in late games.

This build is just my own build, its up to you on how you play this hero. I use this build because this is one of the widely used build ups of Kardel the Sniper. Try and use this build to check it out.

DotA101: Hero Guide to Rikimaru the Stealth Assasin

Riki is a melee carry agility hero that specializes in scouting enemies due to its permanent invisibility skill. He is best useful in late games due to his massive physical damage to enemy heroes. But remember, his greatest strength can also be his greatest weakness.

As starting items you can have a series of choices. One is having a Quelling Blade to have an easy creepkill, Stout Shield for protective uses and Tango for regeneration purposes or you can have Ring of Protection, Quelling blade, Tango and Healing Salve and then two Ironwood Braches. Another option is having two Slippers of Agility for more agility stats in the lane, two Ironwood Branches and then Tango and Healing Salve. I guess that's all you need to survive and to be successful in your lane.

For your laning items, you might have a Poorman's Shield as damage blocker, Magicwand for survival purposes, Power Treads or Tranquil boots, and some stats  addition items like Wraithband for instance. I dont recommend Phaseboots for Riki because his got a passive ability which is his ultimate, the Permanent Invisibility, activating such item would diffuse his ulti.

As core items or mid game items, i extremely recommend Cranium Basher, Masko of Madness for attack speed increase and Diffusal Blade. Even though Diffusal Blade's mana burn wont stack, I still recommend to have that because what's important is its purge effect which slows enemy and therefore giving them a hard time escaping the Smokescreen, the first ability of Riki. While Mask of Madness is of very mush use for having fast attack speed and therefore gives Riki a lot of advantage in dealing massive physical damage. But be wise in using this item because it gives you additional 30% damage taken from enemies attacking you. And because of that I require you to have Blackingbar to prevent magic attack in damaging you, since Riki has a small hp pool.

And finally for his luxury and late game items, I'd like you to upgrade your Cranium Basher to Abyssal Blade for more disable to the enemy.You can also have Monkeyking Bar as a replacement to Diffusal Blade if you like to give enemies a painful bonus 100 true damage. While you can change the Mask of Madness to Butterfly as his supreme item in the late game for increasing his attack speed. You may also upgrade your Diffusal Blade to its level 2 state for more slow charges to the enemy. And finally you can add Manta Style or SangeYasha as your final item to your hero.

Everyone, I guess this is my own hero guide to one of my favorite hero. I hope you can take some good suggestions from this blog. But you also experiment on your hero to try what items could help them in helping your teamates to the highest extent.

DotA101: Hero Guide to Luna Moonfang the Moonrider

Luna Moonfang is a range carry agility hero which excels itself  to dealing a massive magical and physical damage. She must be able to farm well in order for this that's why she needs a proper laning support or a solo lane. This hero also farms fast because of her second skill, Moon Glaive which deal a portion of her attacking damage to enemies around and bounces up to 4 times.And also gets a lot of kill during clash because of her ultimate skill which deals up to 1200 magic damage and therefore gives her a high GPM. And im going to give you some tips in her item build up.

For her starting items you can have two Slippers of Agility, a Healing Salve, one Tango and two Ironwood Branch or you can have one Circlet of Nobility, one Slippers of Agility, a Tango, a Healing Salve and a Clarity Potion. This items help you a lot in terms of  last hitting creeps because of the stats given by your items and it can also help you survive in the lane with hp heal and mana heal as a snack.

In early laning you can proceed your Slippers of Aglity to Poorman's Shield or 2 Wraithband. You may also create Ring of Aquila from your wraithband to have some agility stats and as well as some mana regeneration and a bit of armor. For your movement speed, you can have Phaseboots for damage and unitwalking, Power Treads for attack speed and attribute shifting, Tranquilboots for hp regenaration. And of course Helm of Dominator for lifesteal that helps her in farming and is also one of the most essential item for Luna.

While her core items must be giving her the power to survive and deal a lot of damage to the enemy. One item could be Blacking-Bar that gives a spell immunity upon activation and of course gives some strength attributes for more hit points. Yasha can also be a core items because its give you additional movement speed and  high agility stats which therefore gives Luna a lot of damage and attack speed for combat. And lastly, Lothars Edge for an escape item to Luna and also gives a lot of help in terms in damage and attack speed.

And for late gaming, you always need to have luxury items to deal massive damages late in the game. You can proceed to form Manta Style from your yasha to have illusion and help you in dealing damage. While you can also have Butterfly as you ultimate item for you have a powerful damage and gives an increase to your attack speed a lot.You can also change your boots to a Boots of Travel for better movement speed in the late area.And finally, you need to create Satanic from having Dominator, so that you can survive taking physical damages from enemy heroes.

Actually I really don't build Lothars Edge for my moonrider play but for the sake of everyone i suggest that item because most of Luna users take that item as a very essential one for her. I hope you enjoy reading this guide and of course learn from it.

DotA101: Early Laning

Here is laning one of the most important phase when playing DotA. This phase needs much of your last hitting and denying ability in order for you to take advantage. Proper laning leads to high team advantage in gold points and kills. This phase doesnt having those abilities but also requires teamwork. Teamwork is essential to this phase because most of the time there are two or three players in a lane,so therefore having a good sense of teamwork is advantage.

Last hitting ability is one of the two most important in this game phase because having a high last hit rate gives you more gold and battle experience. With high gold you can have advance items that could really help you guys out in lanes. And so with having advantage in battle experience because you go ahead of  level so you are superior on them based on stats and skills. Usually, the team who gets an advantage in the early laning phase wins the game.

Denying is also a very big help in laning in way that you give y our enemy lesser battle experience that usual when you kill your allied creeps in a low health. This strategy gives your enemy an opposite situation as you are because they go level up slow and in the same time have a low GPM(gold per minute) rate. And pretty sure you whack them into pieces and feed them to have your team in an advantage.

Warding is one the most used technique in laning because it helps you spy the enemies movements which allows or help you to avoid ganks from the enemy team. This wards are just cheap so its cost would not be an effect to your item growth which gives you a lot of advantage. You place this wards on areas on high cliffs and wide vision area to maximize its use and to save some more wards too.

This are just some tips on how to have a proper early laning situation which mostly leads to victory. Listen to your teammates and always look on the mini map to check out some incoming ganks or lane helps.And learn how to give and take with your teammates in special situations.

DotA101: Hero Picking

In playing this game, you of course need to pick a hero. Heroes are the essential element of Dota , as the course of the game is dependent on their intervention. Players are to select from a total of 112 heroes who has different unique skills and attribute combination and has an individual capabilities and uses for the team. From those number of heroes you can also choose among 3 attributes, namely strength, agility and intellect heroes.

Strength heroes are those hero having strength attribute the highest in their stats and gaining damage depending on their strength. This attribute grants 19 hit points per 1 strength and 0.03 HP regeneration per second. Most of this strength heroes are capable of tanking(taking all damage done by the enemy) for the team because if their large HP pool and high regeneration. Example of this heroes are Centaur, Bristleback and Axe.

Agility heroes are of course heroes having agility the highest in their stats and gain damage with this attribute. This hero attribute grants armor and attack speed to your hero. With every point of this attribute, your hero gains an increase of 1 attack speed and 0.14 armor which is already a big help for early and mid game.Usually, this kind of  heroes are carries who are more useful during late game because this heroes only deal a little damage at first but gives heavy massive physical or magical damages during late game, but need to be protected in early game. Some heroes who are under this attribute are usually for beginners like Ursa Warrior, Sniper, Drow Ranger.

Intellect heroes lastly, are heroes who excel in nuking and giving enemies headaches during clashes and also gives some support for carry and tank heroes. This attribute gives mana and mana regeneration, for each point of intellegence gives 13 mana and 0.04 mana regeneration per second. Heroes having this as their primary attributes usually fit as ganker and support purposes because of their large mana pool and skills that help a lot in lanes such as stun, slow, heal, block and  a push. Examples of this heroes are Furion, Lion and Dazzle.

We can all pick a hero according to what we like, playing style, mood or most of the time for what is just needed for the team. But remember you play for enjoyment not for just winning, well except for competitions. By the way guys my favorite heoes are agility type who can escape in battle safely with all the gold from kill steals.

DotA101: Teamwork

One of the most essential property of team when playing a game is teamwork. In every team, an essence of teamwork should be present in order to gain victory. But of course, there is no teamwork if there is no one in the team who is skillful in leading the team. And a leader needs cooperative teammates and a nice touch of sensitivity to everyone.

In DotA teamwork is the most essential in a way that it can give your opponents a hard time defeating you. The most unbeatable team is a team with strong foundation of teamwork. In every game you need to cooperate with each others' skill to manipulate a good strategy. Which is very useful in playing DotA since it is a multi-played game.

In order to have a good teamwork you must have a strong relation with other team members. Making friends with them can help you gain this and can also boost your social intellect. Teamwork in DotA is most essential during clash because in really helps well in giving good skill coordination and of course winning it. It can also be applied in lane ganks giving your team the advantage of the game. Most of the time, winning teams usually have strong sense of teamwork because the game doesn't need individual ability much but maybe for some cases and at times.

  

Teamwork in the game doesn't only mean coordination during clash but also helping one another to escape death. One of the players might give the enemy some body block to help his teammate escape. He could also use some skills to help them escape such as stun, slow, disarms, block, etc. Teamwork also applies in a chase kill wherein one player hero uses an applicable skill to his teammate to chase and kill the enemy.

You know, teamwork doesn't only apply to DotA and other usual games but you can also apply this in class like group reports. It can also help you gain some more friends in a game hall full of strangers. We learn many things in games such a DotA which we can apply to our selves and make us become a better person. That's all I need to say for you to know about teamwork in DotA many more things in life.

DotA101: Sportsmanship

Just like any game, DotA will only have two results which is to win or to lose. In this kind situation, sportsmanship is the most important. In playing the game you need to be sports to avoid having enemies in the game. Be friendly during the game and be cold-tempered in order to play well. Be sensitive to each other to avoid arguments and listen to someone trusted by the team.

Trashtalk is one of the signs that a player is not a good sport. Trashtalking happens when a player speak disparagingly, insultingly or abusively about a person or the team. This is a bad attitude during the game because you can hurt someone’s feeling and might affect his performance in the game. This sign can cause trauma and might lowered his self-esteem. I already tried being trashtalked at trashtalking to other people. It feels so superior when you trashtalk to others but also feels so down when you are the one being trashtalked. So better watch out for your comments because it might be a trashtalk to them.

Playing fair is also part o f being a good sport. This is somewhat related to trashtalking because being a trashtalker is not playing fair. A fair game is played when it is peaceful; no pin-pointing of faults, no trashtalk and everyone is having fun. Play with your best at always to avoid irritating your teammates, this can cause an imbalance game if you refuse participate in full skills. Fair games might be rare but if all players have a good sense of sportsmanship then this might be common.

Whenever you experience those situations, don’t take it so serious Go on and play the game as what you are. Nevermind those people who trashtalk or cheat on the game. Just let them and play fair. The time will for you to avenge t hose kind of players. Anyway, we all learn from our mistakes. So just stay calm and DotA.

(Defense of the Ancients)DotA is basically a multiplayer online battle mod for the video game Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion, the Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, based on the "Aeon of Strife" map for StarCraft. The objective of this game is to destroy all defending towers of each team and destroying the center building called The Ancient. Players are to choose a hero among all of the powerful heroes which will be their character for the game and will be assisted by AI-controlled fighters called creeps”. As a role playing, game players are to level up by earning battle experiences from killing the enemy creeps and heroes. As they kill the creeps and heroes they earn gold points which will be used to buy items and supportive supplies to accomplish the mission.

This game can be played alone or a team which is a five versus five which will be divided into two parties namely, “The Sentinel and The Scourge”. In the start of the game (5 versus 5), each players will have a staring gold of 603 and 4021 if played alone. After they pick a hero they should choose one among its four skills to be learned first, and the most useful in an early fight. In the map there are three lanes namely top, middle, and bottom. In the middle of the game, massive team fights are born which players call the “clash or war”. If they are put into this kind of situation, their eyes are the most useful organ that they can use. It keeps an eye for their hero to avoid it from getting killed.

     

We can learn many things in DotA which can be used in our everyday life. It teaches us how to be observant and a critical thinker. Observant in a way that we need to check the map every now and then to avoid ambush from the enemy heroes. A critical thinker in a way that we need to know what the enemy is planning to have a counter attack.

This game can also train leadership and teamwork among us, because it must be led by a leader who commands properly, and has a good understanding and knowledge with the game to bring victory to team. And of course leadership doesn’t stand alone in this game since a team should have a good sense of sensitivity and must understand each other. Therefore I can say that in order to win the game, you should have knowledge about it and have the right attitude when playing it.
